Your landscapes are looking promising. I would suggest not using so many custom brushes to begin with and do lots of colour studies with a simple round brush. Don't get wrapped up in the detail but concentrate on selecting correct colours, putting down strokes efficiently and working with shapes. Once you get more proficient, you can select the best studies and work them up with more confidence later. Try to work at 50% zoom in PS to force you to keep things simple at the beginning. You then have the option of zooming to 100% later to do fine rendering. Hope this helps. :)
